Ingredients:
2 Kg Chicken, cut in pieces
1 Kg Onion, thinly sliced
50 grams Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
½ teaspoon Red Chilli powder (Pisi Lal Mirch)
2 teaspoons Garam Masala
1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Pisi Haldi)
2 teaspoons Coriander powder (Pisa Dhania)
One bunch of chopped fresh Cilantro/Coriander leaves (Hara Dhania)
One bunch of chopped fresh Mint Leaves (Podina)
100 grams shredded Coconut
Salt to taste
500 grams Plain Yogurt
1 teaspoon Ginger Paste (Pisi Adrak)
1 teaspoon Garlic paste (Pisa Lehsan)
1 cup Water
300 grams Cooking Oil
Instructions:
(1) Marinate the chicken pieces for 10 minutes in 2 teaspoons of salt, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, ginger paste and garlic paste.
(2) Fry the onions in oil until they are golden brown. Add the marinated chicken pieces.
(3) After 10 minutes add the plain yogurt and a cup of water and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes. Then add shredded coconut, red chilli powder, coriander/cilantro leaves and mint leaves. Cover and let it to cook for another 15 minutes or until done.
